Rooftops and fairytales

Something in this city seems to hit the right spot in my brain. They are only small images, I reckon they'd look lovely framed, methinks in a Russian cafe in London, a little display perhaps.
And some fairytale characters Russian styley, sugar bowl, miscellaneous alcohol bottle, Mr candlewick and in the park. No substances Shelley!

Sometimes I love my camera. This is the awesome ceiling in the place where one buys train and plane tickets, beam me up Scottie or perhaps Dr No will appear.
And the window sill in the corridor.

Clay Coils

And this is my latest archaeological drawing, a 7,000 year old clay coil pot. It's the best drawing I've ever done. This will be in a book about an early Neolithic settlement in Russia. Unfortunately the light is very dark in the department, but I will have scans. I would like to hold a Neolithic pottery workshop in the UK, it would be fun and interesting to understand how people created these traces and designs.
(Grrr, my current camera is unbearable, option 100% yellow or blue, tsk. Oh for my long lost Fujifilm...)

The Pipes of St P

The drain pipes in St Petersburg are so typical of the city, they stand out as a feature to me. In winter the bottoms become all frozen and many lose their end in the thaw, consequently the lower section is replaced and brightly painted as below. The aqua colour is also a St Petersburg colour. I love this colour. I couldn't resist taking a photo of the chicken.
A load of old cobbles outside the Hermitage. I will really miss this city, but I know I want to continue my relationship with this place.
